We created Unique Records in June 2001, and remained faithful to our basic manifesto - to defend complex and original music, across various musical styles. To promote the originality of our productions beyond business rules.

Despite the ever-growing difficulty of being an independent label, we’ve got through, and we’ve found a faithful audience, willing to hear our attempts of renewing the so-called independent music. We’ve also met successful critic response (Les Inrockuptibles, Magic!, Coda, Rock Sound, Rolling Stone, Mouvement, Trax, etc.).

Unique Records has developed in France and abroad, collaborating with fellow French labels (Another Record, Monopsone, Effervescence, and Drunkdog) and foreign ones: Moonpalace, Superglider, Megaphone Music. We have broadened our broadcasting network to Canada, Japan, Sweden, Poland, Portugal, and (hopefully) more countries will come soon.
